Design and Manufacture
Design and Manufacture allows pupils to learn about the everyday products that surround us and gives them an appreciation of design, materials and manufacture in both a workshop setting and in industry.
Design and Manufacture allows pupils to build their problem solving and analytical skills and apply them to products and problems in today’s society. Pupils are able to show their creativity, knowledge of materials and processes and problem solving through design folios and building models and prototypes. The course allows pupils to use their knowledge to recognise how Design and Manufacture impacts on society and the environment.
This course is useful for pupils seeking a career in Product Design, Engineering and Construction.
Pupils can study Design and Manufacture at National 4, National 5 and Higher level.
